FENCES

A good, high-quality well thought out fence can give you many years of peace of mind by adding security, safety, & aesthetics to your property. A sound investment too, as it can add value to your home or business for potential buyers when you come to sell your property.
Ok, you know you need a fence, but where do you start? The first thing to ask yourself is what is the fence for?Safety: Nothing is more important than protecting your children or pets from leaving your property. Fences that you can see through, like aluminium panels are perfect as you can see that they are secure in the fenced area & they can also see you. Privacy & wind shields: Choose a fence with no gaps between boards or a solid material. Obviously the higher you go the more privacy, the most common height for fences are 1800mm, or for a bit more height go for 2000mm. Noise reduction: A solid timber fence, or lapped is great as a sound barrier, the thicker the material the better to keep out those disruptive sounds & noises. Security: Make sure the fence is flush with no horizontal rails that potentially could be used to climb. Industrial fences tend to have barb wire tops to prevent intruders. Boundary: Marks your section so you & your neighbours know where your land starts/finishes. The most common & cost effective is a standard timber paling fence. Decorative: You can really use your imagination to add an instant appeal to your home with so many options of styles, materials, colours, combinations etc.
